Hi,

My name is Melissa Lindahl - I’m an Ohio-based Complex Trauma (C-PTSD) therapist working with adult individuals of all diversities who seek to find answers to why they are struggling.

Gentle Perspective

"Top-Down” Approach - (focusing on changing negative thought patterns and emotional responses through cognitive and psychological strategies):

Psychodynamic Therapy: Explores unconscious processes and past experiences to understand current behavior and emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helps you identify and change negative thought patterns, fostering healthier ways of thinking and feeling.

Parts Theory: Understands that each individual has distinct internal “parts” or sub-personalities, each with its own beliefs, emotions and motivations which can be identified, understood and integrated to promote inner harmony and personal growth.

Existential Therapy: Inquires into the meanings you give to important concerns such as freedom, responsibility and purpose in life.

Bottom-Up Approach - (addressing the body's physiological responses to stress, helping to restore a sense of personal safety and regulation):

Somatic Awareness: Tunes in to body sensations and experiences as a way to understand and address emotional, psychological and physiological states.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Encourages you to stay present and connected to the moment, reducing tension and promoting inner peace.

Expressive Arts Therapy: Harnesses the power of artistic expression such as visual arts, writing, music, dance, and drama to facilitate emotional processing and foster self-expression, exploration and self-discovery.
