What is Authenticity?
Authenticity is the quality of being genuine, real, and true to oneself. It involves living in alignment with one's values, beliefs, and innermost feelings rather than conforming to external expectations or societal norms. Authenticity means being honest and transparent about who you are, your strengths, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities. It also entails having the courage to express yourself authentically in your actions, relationships, and communication. Embracing authenticity fosters deeper connections with others and a greater sense of fulfillment and integrity in life.
My job is to help you return to your authenticity so you can recover your individual, and uniquely particular value for being in this world and start living your life for You. I believe when you return to your authenticity the symptoms you are trying to relieve will lessen as they will no longer be needed to get you to pay attention to losses of the past that need grieving. When you grieve the losses (of nurturance, care, love, guidance, etc) that were denied to you, the symptoms start to make sense and you can see them for the lifesaving information they contain.
It isn’t easy, and it takes time, but I believe we can find your authenticity by looking at your past to see moments where your it was questioned, challenged and denied to you. We go back to your wounded child within to understand just exactly what happened to contribute to your diminished authenticity and we look at the better ways thing could have unfolded for you and we and start giving you that support now. We fulfill unmet needs so that the wound of it can heal its insistence on making itself known in your life is no longer something you have to spend energy to ignore. It’s never too late.
